The 'Flyer' is the person who actually  flies the drone or model aircraft, whether also the 'Operator' or not.

 

To get a 'Flyer ID' you must pass an online theory test, which is free. It is advisable to read the guidance documents in order to prepare for the test before you take it.

 

Children under 13 must also pass the test to get a 'Flyer ID'. For data protection reasons, they must register with their parent or guardian.

A 'Flyer ID' can last up to 5 years and will have an expiry date applied to it.
